The rules are simple. Randomly CafePress will post a theme or question on their Twitter account. Followers of them can then tweet back to them linking to a shirt somewhere on their site that matches the description. You can even quickly design your own shirt, and submit that. Winners will get a free t-shirt of their choice among their entire collection!

This contest is a clever way to get people to follow them on Twitter, and fill up their site with new highly targeted content. I haven’t felt the need to sign up for a Twitter account yet, but I think this will get a lot of people to join. Check out their blog post for more information.

Zazzle is celebrating Earth Day by offering to plant a tree for every shirt purchased. It can be any shirt throughout their entire site, so if there has been one that you’ve been looking at, now is the time to buy. They are teaming up with AmericanForests by donating a dollar for every shirt purchased, which directly relates to one tree planted.

If you’re feeling particularily earthy, they’ve set up a shop full of environment related shirts. The deal lasts until April 24th so you still have some time to decide. Just use the coupon code PLANTATREE09 when you check out and they’ll do the rest. I would recommend the design “This Shirt Plants Trees,” since it fits the theme perfectly.

Brand of the Free is having a 35% off sale right now. They are doing this to celebrate their participation in the Go Green American Expo and, of course, Earth Day. All you need to do is put the coupon code GOGREEN35 in when you checkout. The only stipulation is that you can’t use it on any of the shirts in their outlet section.

What does this savings mean for you? Well you can have “New Growth,” the shirt pictured, for around 20 bucks. That will be the price you pay for most of the other shirts on the site as well. This may not seem like a great deal but, since their shirts are 100% organic,  you’ll be getting a lot for your dollar.

The contest itself is a challenge to make the funniest shirt you can think of. It’s recommended, but not necessary, to use the Aviary applications to create your submission. Winners will receive a copy of the shirt they have created, a Spreadshirt Premium Shop membership, and an Aviary premium account. While the straight dollar value of these prizes isn’t amazing, the amount of utility you could get out of both premium accounts would more than make up for it.

This is a good opportunity to try out some new software, and maybe make some money in the process. I’m really curious to see all of the future tools from Aviary. Head on over and submit your entry now!

Threadless is running a spring cleaning sale that lasts until Monday, March 23rd. I’m not the only blogger to mention this, but it’s such a great deal that I have to write about it as well. They have a selection of shirts available for $10, and another set available for $5. You’ll have to browse their entire catalog and hope that they have your size! They’ve also just announced their newest shirts for this week, and there are some excellent designs amongst that bunch. Unfortunately, none of those are for sale.

“A Voyage To Lilliput” is one of the many great designs that is on sale. There is a lot of great detail in it so take a close look. Hopefully this sale will clear the way for more designs of that caliber in 2009.

Just reviewing what they’ve done in the past with this kind of thing gets me pretty excited to see what the designers will come up with. Their song version of this derby was pretty weak, but if you take a look at the movies and books re-interpretations you’ll find some real gems. Also, there will be no text allowed which I generally prefer in a theme like this.

It’s just started, so there is still a week left for submissions and votes. I’ll be watching this one closely, hoping that one of my favorite shows is among the winners.
